FAQ

Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality?
No. PNG prevents further loss, but detail already lost in the JPG cannot be recovered.
Can I convert a PDF to PNG?
Yes. Choose a PDF, pick a page and a resolution, and it's converted to PNG. Pages are converted one at a time, so for several pages convert them one by one. The PDF is read only in your browser and only the selected page is uploaded; password-protected PDFs aren't supported yet.
Why is the PNG bigger than the original?
PNG is lossless, so photos are usually much larger as PNG than as JPG. If you just want a smaller file, use Compress Image.
Will a JPG get a transparent background as PNG?
No. JPG has no transparency information, so the background keeps its original color.
Do GIF animations survive?
No, only the first frame is converted and the result tells you so.
